Its was formed after the construction of Namal Dam in 1913 so its not a natural Lake. Namal Dam is around 32 km from famous city of Mianwali. The total surface area of lake is around 5.5 km². Lake is covered by mountains from its western and southern sides. Rest two sides have vast and rich agriculture areas.
