Commissario Montalbano, Il campo del vasaio (The Potter's field)
When a body is found cut into pieces and wrapped in a plastic bag, all signs point to an old-fashioned Mafia-style execution. While investigating the murder case, Salvo Montalbano meets a neighbour, Esterina Trippodo (played by Maria Isabella Piana), who refuses to talk to him - or to any policeman representing the detested republic. She is a Monarchist and will die a Monarchist. Only after Commissario Montalbano reveals that he as well is a Monarchist (a closeted one, because otherwise he may lose his job), the neighbour talks about the events.

SBS, the Australian multicultural television network, produced subtitles for all five series before broadcasting them on the SBS network. Il Commissario Montalbano played wonderfully by Luca Zingaretti has run on Italian television since 1999 and the subtitled version is still shown on SBS.
