Former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria has advised the Indian cricket team against travelling to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, saying the security risk is too high due to Indo-Pak relations as well as how the country of Pakistan treats their minorities, particularly Hindus.

Kaneria, who is himself a Hindu, talked about people of the community facing forced conversion as well as other atrocities, and said that India should take a stand against it by not sending a team to Pakistan.

He further believes the Champions Trophy will be played in a hybrid model, similar to what happened with the 2023 Asia Cup.
