The renowned Hukou Waterfall on the Yellow River in north China's Shaanxi Province attracts lots of visitors for its rare green waterfall.
Located on the border area between northern Shanxi and the northwestern Shaanxi provinces, the Hukou Waterfall is the largest waterfall on the Yellow River and the second largest waterfall in China.
Affected by the less rainfall in the upper reaches of the Yellow River and the decrease of water in the main stream of China's second-longest river, the flow rate of the Hukou Waterfall has slowed down and a lot of sand sediment has been deposited.
Because of the absence of a large amount of sand and the reflection by the sunlight, the color of the majestic Hukou Waterfall has turned green. Lured by the magical emerald-green landscape and the beautiful rainbow, many tourists have come to Shaanxi to visit the amazing scenes.
