White Ribbon Day is November 25th.
It's an important global event dedicated to raising awareness about and taking action to prevent violence against women and girls.
The purpose is to promote gender equality and challenge harmful gender norms that contribute to violence.
The white ribbon symbolizes men's commitment to ending violence against women.
White Ribbon Day marks the beginning of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, which runs until December 10th, International Human Rights Day.
Over 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men in the US have experienced rape, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner in their lifetime.
“Sleeping with the Enemy,” “Enough,” and “The Color Purple” are movies dealing with different levels of violence.
