Renowned reservist Capt. Robert Tebben, a Civil Affairs Officer with the 3d Civil Affairs Group, Force Headquarters Group, Marine Force Reserve, and a Mechanical Engineer at @bayerofficial, participated in #Balikatan23 in Ilocos Norte, Philippines, on May 8, 2023.
Tebben, an Ankeny, Iowa native, joined the Marine Corps Reserve to serve his country while maintaining close ties with his family. "The Reserves (sic) allow me to stay close to home and provide stability for my two young children," said Tebben.
His service has offered him unique opportunities not found in civilian life—leading large groups, learning new skills, and global travel. His commitment and positivity towards the Reserves have shaped a rewarding experience.
During Balikatan 23, an annual bilateral exercise with the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the focus was on enhancing community understanding of the exercise's purpose and strengthening our partnership. This "shoulder-to-shoulder" effort underscores the spirit of cooperation and mutual benefit.
