Today (6 July) cabinet ministers gather in Chequers (the British Prime Minister's official country residence) to agree a common position on the UK's future relationship with the EU. The ministers will have to reach agreement and a White Paper will then be published, translated into all EU languages. The White Paper will be sent directly to all EU-27 heads of government and it is hoped – in the UK – that this will help circumvent the EU's negotiation position which was outlined and agreed by the same states that agreed on the negotiating guidelines . We asked MEPs from across different party groupings and different countries (East, West, North and South; left and right) what they thought the UK government should do.
We asked Vladimir Manka MEP from Slovakia what he would like to hear from the UK. He mentioned that he met someone who worked in Cambridge Analytica and was concerned that it had influenced the UK's decision to leave the EU.
