I always have "smoked" mackerel in my freezer because I love to cook with it. I haven't yet found one in the African markets that are as good as the ones we buy on the markets in Ghana... so I always make my own. And they taste even better. As I always say, if I am going to stink up my house, then I might as well make it worth it! I always make a big batch and freeze some so I don't need to make them again for a month or two. I hope this recipe is helpful to you! And Norwegian Mackerel is the best type to buy.
Ingredients:
6 pieces Norwegian Mackerel
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
5 of my all purpose seasoning cubes
salt to your taste.
