Here's a video description of the problem I'm having with my brand new Yamaha THR10, just purchased last week. I'm getting this high pitch whining noise that's driving me crazy. It's especially bad on the higher gain amp settings. The funny thing is, I can tune it out a bit by adjusting the gain and treble controls together, but the squeal comes out at what I would consider to be some pretty normal amplifier settings that anyone might play with.
I've tried, different cables, different guitars, using battery power vs the power brick, moving the amp all over the place to get it away from anything that might be interfering, etc. No change. It can't be right.
One thing I didn't show in the video is that if I have the treble all the way up (as shown), but then turn the gain all the way up also, the sound gets tuned out quite a bit. As if the gain and treble controls are coupled somehow (when they're together the sound is a lot lower).
Anyone else had a similar experience?
