INCREDIBLE DAMAGE TO WW2 ARMOURED CUPOLA
This German WW2 armoured steel cupola has taken a serious amount of hits from rounds and there’s even a dud 75mm shell still stuck in the twisted metal!
This cupola and four others like it can be found surrounding the extensive bunker site Ra230 Fort de la Cite d’Alet in the beautiful town of Saint Malo in Brittany, France.
It’s part of a R112b six-embrasure defensive bunker which stands at the northern tip of the site on the high cliff overlooking the port.
Behind it, and linked by an underground tunnel, you can see the classic dome front of R636 Command Post for the coastal batterie.
This site - built over a 17th Century French fort - is a bunker hunter’s dream location with more than 20 casemates, bunkers, and buildings to explore along with the cupolas, a small museum, a French tank turret, and an 88mm gun.
