All new fossil fuel projects must be scrapped if the world is to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. That's according to the International Energy Agency, in a special report ahead of the UN climate change summit in November. This means no new oil and gas fields must be approved for development, beyond those already committed. The agency also said new fossil-fuel cars must not be sold after 2035. It added that the path to global net-zero emissions is narrow, but still achievable.
