We wake up at Disney's Grand Floridian resort and its my birthday! (Alex), we have a fun filled day planned. We head over to Disney's Animal Kingdom where we have a breakfast reservation at Tusker House which is a character dinning experience featuring Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck and Daisy who are all wearing their safari outfits. We had a really good experience in there and the food was delicious.
We make a stop at Starbucks then head over to watch a couple of shows starting with Feathered Friends in Flight then The Festival of the Lion King.
Up next its time for my main birthday treat! Wild Africa Trek located in Kilimanjaro Safari - The description for this adventure is :
Walk along a grassland path, cross a rope bridge and ride in a rugged safari vehicle over an open savanna—with a chance to view African creatures including towering giraffes, powerful rhinos, hippos and crocodiles.
Along your journey, your knowledgeable guide will share insights about the majestic animals you’re viewing, as well as details about the park’s dedication to animal conservation.
And as if your safari weren’t memorable enough, you’ll receive a complimentary souvenir as well!
However the weather had other ideas for us, we got all ready for it in all the gear but unfortunately and beyond anyone's control it had to be cancelled. Sadly they had no other availability for the duration of our stay so we will have to reschedule for another time!
We decide to take a look in the shops and explore the merch on offer again before heading to Disney Springs as there is a s'more we have seen online which is made fresh in front of you at the Ganachery. If you find yourself in Disney Springs you wont be disappointed with this treat, it was so good!
We take a look in Tommy Bahama then head back to the resort, we have a few hours around the pool then head for dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe, the food there was really good, we have the Buttermilk-fried Chicken. Ending the night we have a view of the fireworks from the Magic Kingdom right from our table!
We head back to the room and end the vlog there.
