A Drivers eye view travelling over the 'Gauntlet' track in North Melbourne to Southern Cross Station (formerly Spencer Street Station). The Gauntlet track is interesting as the Standard Guage and Broard Guage (Up East Suburban Line) share a couple of hundred metres of track bed. It is unique as there is no common rail as usually seen on duel guage track. It is two completly separate rail lines over lapping each other. As I crossed over the Dudley Street bridge, some girls queueing up at Festival Hall were screaming out "Hi train".
