Jammu & Kashmir: Army organises free medical camp in remote Marh village
In an attempt to provide basic health facilities to people residing in remote areas, the Indian Army organized a medical camp at Marh , a remote village in Nagrota tehsil of Jammu and Kashmir.
A large number of locals, children, youngsters and elderly alike, visited the camp here and consulted the doctors. Genuine medical requirements of the Awaam were addressed and free medical advice and medicines were provided to the attended from the remote villages.
Army Doctors and Nursing Assistance provided treatment to all patients hailing from far flung areas with inadequate medical facilities. Dr Geeta Dubey, MBBS, and Dr Khurshid, MBBS, MD and staff from Primary health centre, the Chhibba worked tirelessly along with Army doctors providing essential support.
The medical camp witnessed an overwhelming response from locals and around 215 persons from nearby villages including students of Govt High secondary school, Marh and Greenland Public school, Marh availed free medical advice and medicines during the camp.
A health awareness lecture on good health and hygiene including preventive measures against ailments like Covid-19, Jaundice, Malaria, viral Hepatitis and common fever was also conducted on the occasion by the Medical Officer of the Army.
Appreciating the steps taken by the Indian Army to provide basic health facilities in far flung areas, the villagers demanded that more such medical camps should be organised across the Union Territory on a regular basis.
