Ariosoma gilberti, better known as the sharpnose conger, is a species of eel found in the depths of the tropical western Pacific Ocean. Growing up to 1.5m in length, they live in sandy and muddy habitats, preying on crustaceans and small fish. They can live for up to 8 years, and are able to move in and out of reefs, making them an adaptable species.
