Back in the early 2000s I built a bile with either an Avid or Jagwire brake kit that used stainless steel tubing. I only rode it a few times, and it was a MTB with Avid mechanical brakes, but I was impressed with the cable feel.
That's the long story of how I came up with this idea. There are a lot of issues with BMX brakes, and some of them would be easy enough to solve IF you were designing your own frame or if the industry would take brakes more seriously.
This modification worked really well, but is not a practical solution for most people, as there is a fair amount of custom fabrication that is required.
I have some more ideas for some intense brake mods, but for now we will leave it at this.
