A new Edith Cowan University report has found 92 per cent of Western Australian performing artists experienced significant changes to their work during COVID-19, and more than half experienced depression.
‘Breathing Through the Pandemic’ was undertaken by ECU’s Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) and funded by the WA Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation.
For the first time since the pandemic, it has revealed the individual and industry responses and adaptations to COVID-19 and the challenges that confronted the performing arts sector.
