Yangon served as the capital of Myanmar until 2006 when the military government relocated it to Naypyidaw in north central Myanmar.
With a population of over 5.5 million, Yangon is the most populous city and major commercial centre and probably your entry point to Myanmar.
Yangon means “run out of enemies”.
