(11 Nov 2015) Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic announced on Wednesday that his government would donate five million euros (5.3 million US dollars) to rejuvenate the eastern Bosnian town of Srebrenica where Serbs slaughtered 8,000 Muslim men and boys during Bosnia's 1992-95 war.
Speaking at a regional investment conference in Srebrenica, Vucic said the first two million euros (2.1 million US dollars) would arrive by Monday.
The move is another attempt to atone for war atrocities that have kept the region unstable.
In July, Vucic had to flee events in Srebrenica marking the 20th anniversary of the killings, after angry mourners pelted him and his entourage with rocks during the funeral at a memorial cemetery of 136 massacre victims found in nearby mass graves.
