Chebab | Emirati pancake recipe| Emirati breakfast recipe
Ingredients:
Plain flour ( All purpose flour) - 1 cup ( 130g)
Sugar-1 & 1/2 tablespoon
Baking powder-1/4 teaspoon
Instant yeast-1/2 teaspoon
salt-1/4 teaspoon
Egg-1
Milk-1&1/4 cup
Oil-1 tablespoon
Ghee or butter-1-2 tablespoon
Saffron -10-12 threads
Cardamom powder-1/4 teaspoon
Method:
Mix Egg, sugar, saffron, cardamom powder, milk , salt and baking powder.
Add the flour gradually and mix until you get a smooth batter.
Cover and let the batter rest for 1-2 hours.
After 1 hour add the oil and mix.
The batter should not be thick or too thin. If thick batter add 1 or 2 teaspoon water.
Heat a pan and pour the batter .
Reduce the heat in to medium and cook the pancake until bubbles comes over the top.
Brush some ghee .
Flip the chebab and cook the other side for 1 -2 minutes.
Remove from the pan.
Serve with cheese and honey or date syrup.
