UPDATE: Full episode available now! [ Ссылка ]
The Way of Archery is excited to announce that the second installment of its Warfare Research Series, "Ming Arrows vs Chinese Brigandine," is set to release soon. This episode will feature Justin Ma and Blake Cole using thumb draw with 110#+ Asiatic war bows (by Misko Rovcanin of MR Bows) to try to pierce Chinese brigandine armor. We are very excited to be using careful recreations of Ming-era arrows this time around. A special thanks to Matt Easton of Schola Gladiatoria ([ Ссылка ]) for his episode one feedback addressing arrows.
This episode will take a documentary approach to exploring the history behind both the arrows and armor. It includes interviews with armor provider and researcher, Caesar Zhang of Cathay Armory, as well as the collaborators who brought the arrows to life: Peter Dekker, a researcher and trader of antique arms, and current head of the ATARN research network, and John Lamb, the arrowsmith who forged the arrowheads. John Potter, a master fletcher, finalized the arrows.
We can't wait to share the episode soon. Feel free to leave your predictions below!
