In this commentary, I describe the five most important lessons I've learned in model railroading since returning to the hobby in 2014.

These lessons include: (1) Keep it simple. (2) Learn new skills. (3) Be patient. (4) Be willing to make changes. And (5) interact with others in the hobby.
