During Labor Day weekend in 2023, we found Abilene and Smoky Valley Railroad 4-6-2 Baldwin running around their train in Abilene. During that time, we witnessed several wheel slips while the engineer applied throttle to the engine.
Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway #3415 is a Pacific type locomotive that was built in 1919, and retired 1954. The engine was then put on display and restored to operation in 2009. The engine will going under its 1,472 day inspection at the end of the 2023 operating season.
