A child was rescued from a vehicle and taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead after a two-car wreck in Kensington on Wednesday morning.
According to SDPD, just before 8 a.m. a 45-year-old man was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee southbound on 4700 Biona Drive with his 6-year-old son and 8-year-old daughter in the rear seats. Both children were in safety seats. As their vehicle was crossing the intersection with Adams Avenue, they were struck by a Hyundai Sonata that was traveling eastbound on Adams Avenue. The collision caused the Jeep to overturn.
The San Diego Fire Department responded to the intersection of Adams Avenue and Biona Drive after receiving a call about a crash. First responders found a vehicle on its side resting on a fire hydrant, the SDFD said.
