A pretrial hearing resumed Tuesday in the Karen Read murder case over a doctor's dog bite testimony.
Read, from Mansfield, is accused of backing into her Boston police officer boyfriend, John O'Keefe, during a 2022 snowstorm. He was found in the snow with fatal wounds.
A defense expert who testified in the first trial about O'Keefe's injuries returned to the stand to answer questions from prosecutors.
Dr. Marie Russell, a retired emergency room doctor, told jurors during the first trial that O'Keefe's arm injuries were consistent with a dog attack.
The commonwealth doesn't want Russell to testify in the retrial, citing inconsistencies in her testimony.
