James came to us with the dilemma of how to freshen and improve the suspension on his E39 M5.
The M5 had covered just over 100,00 miles and he'd noticed the original 13 year old shock absorbers has lost most of their gas and were very weak at absorbing road changes during the compression stroke (squelching noise), as well as controlling the rebound stroke.

Naturally James was worried about changing the charactoristics of the E39 M5 by changing to an aftermarket suspension setup.
We showed him various options, priced different kits, and took him for a road-test in one of our technician's (Luke) own E39 M5 with Bilstein B12 kit to see how it rides.

James was more than happy with our in depth advise and real-time road testing of our own car.
He booked in for the Bilstein B12 suspension kit.
This comes as a package with Bilstein B8 shock absorbers and Eibach Pro Kit springs.
It lowers the car by approx 20mm on the front and just a few (2mm) on the rear.

Fitting was straight forward as we've carried out this exact job on multiple E39 M5's and also a 530d.

Then a full wheel digital alignment for front and rear toe and camber (with printed report) was carried out along with a 12 miles road test to check the job was completed to our exacting standards.

James reports he is over the moon with the improved ride on his E39 M5.
It hasn't made the car too harsh, nor changed it in any adverse way.
He says it has given him more confidence to push on when cornering as the car has been stabilised in a controlled way and even a slight reduction in body roll due to the Eibach springs slightly higher spring rate (compared with OEM).
