Sabir and Dilshad Khan present a melodious Dhun in Raga Shivaranjani on the instrument which resembles the human voice- the Sarangi. Sabir Khan, an Indian Sarangi player and the son of Legendary Sarangi player and vocalist, Padma Bhushan Ustad Sultan Khan, belongs to the Sikar gharana of music. His technique of playing is a rare combination of Sur and Laya. Ustad Dilshad Khan, a Bengali Hindustani classical singer of the Kirana gharana was trained under the guidance of Ustad Fayyaz and Niaz Ahmed khan. Sabir Khan is an Indian sarangi player and the son of legendary sarangi player and vocalist Padma Bhushan Ustad Sultan Khan. He belongs to the Sikar gharana (school) of music which has given several stalwarts to Indian classical music.
Khan was born in Jodhpur, Rajasthanto renowned sarangi player and vocalist Padma Bhushan Ustad Sultan Khan. He trained under his father and his uncle Ustad Nasir Khan. He is the ninth generation to take up sarangi. His great-grandfather Ustad Azim Khan Sahab was a court musician at Sikar Rajasthan.

Dilshad Khan born in 1983 in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. He belongs to the Sikar Gharana of music which has given several stalwarts to Indian classical music. He is the ninth generation to take up Sarangi. His great grandfather Ustad Azim Khan was a court musician at Sikar in Rajasthan.
He began his training at the age of 6 in music from his grandfather Ustad Gulab Khan Sahab who was a great sarangi player and vocalist of his time and from his father Ustad Nasir Khan Sahab who was also a great sitar player. Later he started learning sarangi from his legendary uncle Padma Bhushan Ustad Sultan Khan Sahab, who is one of the most renowned sarangi players and Vocalists from India. Ustad Sultan Khan Sahab gave a new dimension to sarangi and played the key role in popularizing this ancient classical instrument of India.
Dilshad Khan gave his first performance at the age of 10 at All India Radio Youth festival in Jodhpur. He is known today for his excellent command on this difficult instrument and has already remarkably imbibed almost his great uncle’s entire repertoire with a similar command and mastery on the sarangi. He is indeed a chip off the old block and has shared the stage with his uncle Padma Bhushan Ustad Sultan Khan Sahab many times.
