Anarrara and her husband have been amazing Superhosts to us.

Our sincere gratitude goes out to them for their exceptional hospitality and professional courtesies.

We were welcomed, and taken care of, by their caretaker Junior.

As an architect by training, I have to say that their property - Casa do Pescador - is probably the best designed and also possibly the most luxurious, modern & comfortable place to stay in Atins.

We stayed here to explore Parque Nacional dos Lençóis Maranhenses: one of the Top 10 destinations in Brazil.

Casa do Pescador has 2 garden terraces - one in front with the living room area and another as an extension of the master bedroom at the back.

Cross ventilation is excellent; it keeps the indoor living space pleasant with a gentle breeze wafting through the entire house ... perfect for a warm humid tropical climate.

Air-conditioning in both bedrooms helps remove moisture from the air and provides a very comfortable environment for sleeping.

Like in Bali, the alfresco rain shower under the sky in the outdoor washrooms are simply splendid.

Considering the rather remote & isolated location, wi-fi is surprisingly good & reliable, averaging over 10+ Mbps ... and working online everyday as full-time digital nomads from here is an enjoyable treat.

Just in case you haven't seen it on their profile page, Anarrara and her husband have another Airbnb property listing here in Atins - viz. Casa do Campo ([ Ссылка ]) - which comes with a very large piece of land for spacious outdoor living ... a great place for families with kids.

The nearest restaurant to Casa do Pescador is just a few steps across the street and the beach is only about 100 metres away.

There are no paved roads in this small quiet fishing village of only a few thousand people ... just soft white sandy tracks.

Here in Atins, almost no one (who is a visiting tourist) walks from point to point - except for tough hardy locals - as it can be quite arduous to thread on soft sinking sand everywhere.

Most folks ride around on a 4-wheel drive quad (that you can rent at a very competitive rate from Anarrara) ... we highly recommend it: you will feel like a kid again!!!

It takes around an hour to travel from Barreirinhas to Atins by private speedboat ... and the ride itself is an interesting worthwhile trip on its own.

From Sao Luis, it will take between 4 - 5 hours to drive to Barreirinhas ... be sure to watch out for all of those potholes!

If you are coming all the way to explore the surreal Lençóis Maranhenses landscape, you must book an aerial tour of the national park to better appreciate this immense natural treasure from the air.

For this - as a former commercial pilot myself - I recommend booking a high-wing Cessna 172 instead of a low-wing aircraft, if possible, as the ground visibility would be a lot better without the wings in the way of line of sight.

Currently, the only 4-seater (1 pilot + 3 passengers) Cessna 172 aircraft that is available in Barreirinhas belongs to pilot Murillo Efrain and he should be booked in advance through Voar Fotografia Aérea ([ Ссылка ]).

Your speedboat transfer between Barreirinhas and Atins - together with a safe private garage to park your car rental - can be arranged through Everton Turismo in Atins ([ Ссылка ]).
