In this short video we will answer a standardized multiple choice math test question where we are asked to identify the equation of a line of fit for a scatter plot. We will begin by drawing a line of fit that trends with the data and has as many data points above the line as below the line. We will review slope-intercept form since all of the multiple choice answers are in slope-intercept form. We will first identify the y-intercept of our line of fit. We will then eliminate multiple choice answers that do not match our identified y-intercept. We will then review the remaining two choices and know that our line has a positive slope since it rises or increases left to right on our graph. We will confirm that our line of fit has the same slope for one final check to ensure our answer choice is the correct one.
