Winter Event 2018 Questline in Forge of Empires

The quest line starts very simple. Spend some forge points and receive 10 stars for this and every other of the first 40 quests.

Often there are imprecicsely descriptions in my quest text like 'some forge points' or 'some coins'. Then the exact number depends on the player's age and in case of forge points this can vary for the same quest between 3 forge points in the Iron Age and 51 forge points in the Virtual Future.

The 5th quest, acquire 2 sectors on the province map, is more painful for some players. Those who advanced already a lot on the province map compared to their current age or era, have more difficulties to do that. Possibly some quests want to motivate players not to stay too long in one age or era.

As always, the requested goods can be picked from production buildings but also from the market. Just arrange something with a guild member and swap some goods. If you have to donate goods to your guild and the quest does not emphasize that goods from the current age are required, simply donate goods from the Iron Age. This reduces the expenses a lot and many guild are happy about these donations as this helps to release the guild expedition every week while usually players in the Iron Age do not already own great buildings bringing goods to the guild treasury.

The hint to have these tiny bronze age blacksmiths to complete production quests is already well known from many previous videos. This time it would be best to have 15 production buildings as the quest line ask to complete 15 productions in several quests. If you don't have enough space for that, you should calculate that you will need longer.

The 19th quest initially was: „Research a technology or in a production building finish a 24-hours-production 10 times. This OR connection had a bug on the beta server. InnoGames first reduced the quest to 'Reseach a Technology'. Players gave very negative feedback on this. Then InnoGames published in the change log of November 19th that they will replace it by „Donate some goods to your guild or complete 10 productions of 24 hours each“.

Quest 36 initially was: „Scout a province or complete 10 productions of 24 hours each“. Again that OR connection made problems. They reduced it to 'Scout a Province“. Until today InnoGames did not publish if they also want to change this again.

The start of the winter event on the beta server overlapped with the early phase of the vikings. Therefore in the beginning I didn't have much time for the winter event. But I still had completed the first 40 quests after 5 days. This proves that it is not difficult to make progress in the questline if you plan a bit.

For the 40 quest milestone you will receive 300 winter stars. This is the equivalent of 3 complete Christmas trees and at least as many daily specials.

From quest 41 the reward is 15 winter stars per quest.

From now you receive the daily quests. There is another quest added to the end of your list of tasks every day. If you cannot complete it on the same day, nothing will get lost. But you should definitely try to log in every day to not miss the daily 10 stars login bonus.

As many daily quests require forge points, it is an advantage to complete one every day. Else you should have some forge points in your inventory or own enough coins to simply buy the required forge points.

Often you will have to win against small and medium armies. Only once, on December 18th, you will fight against a large army. But if you prefer, you always can negotiate instead.

The 22nd quest wants you as one of 2 possibilities, to negotiate two platform in the guild expedition. Quest 27 wants you to complete 12 encounters of the guild expedition. Then quest 40 asks you to complete 5 encounters in a row. Beside this there is no other implication to the guild expedition in the first 40 quests.

The quest that you will receive for December 5th which most players will receive much later, brings the option to win against 3 encounters. On Friday 7th you then should win against 6 encounters. It helps to not have completed the guild expedition then.

I don't know if there might be a very challenging quest in the end, as per today I only know 64 of these 71 quests, because the winter event is still ongoing on the beta server. The experience from the previous years demonstrates that the final quests are not more difficult. Independent of the age you are currently in, you should not have problems to complete all quests in time.
