The Toyger cat is a comparatively new breed artificially bred, which did not receive full registration until 2007.
The history of origin is that American breeder Judy Sugden wanted to improve the features of color, and subsequently got a completely new breed of cat, which differs not only in the color of the coat but also in certain qualities. In other words, she created a breed of cats not only similar in color to the tiger, but also with the character of this wild animal. The cat is also called "tiger in miniature."
They cannot be called small cats, as males can reach 6kg in weight or more. The body is muscular and properly built, the color features are the maximum contrast of tabby and background stripes, regardless of shade, and circular stripes on the muzzle. The pads of the paws should be black.
Without sufficient experience with the Toygers, they can be mistakenly classified as a family of domestic Bengals. There are many differences between the breeds, ranging from the features to the body and ending color. Well, to be more precise, Toygers have combined all the undesirable characteristics of their ancestors: more impressive sizes, elongated bodies, and vertical stripes on wool.
Generally, Toyger cats are larger and more charismatic than kittens; they have more fragile bones and less muscle mass. Besides that, " female cats" often lack showy hairs on the chin and temples, while male representatives of the male sex have this peculiarity explicitly expressed.
They are very kind and calm while being quite active and intelligent. Toyger cats often choose a high point in the room, whether it is a closet or a door, to observe what is happening. Many representatives of this breed like water, which among cats is a rather rare phenomenon.
