On March 12, 2018, US-Bangla Airlines Flight 211 was scheduled to fly from Dhaka, Bangladesh to Kathmandu, Nepal in a Dash 8 Q400. The aircraft had 67 passengers and a crew of 4. The entire flight went smoothly until the descent began. The pilot suffered a loss of situational awareness, and the Q400 banked very steep on descent. The approach was very unstable, as the aircraft was on its side. It eventually reached a runway, but overshot it and crashed into a football field just 442 meters southeast of the runway, killing 51 of the 71 occupants, leaving 20 survivors. This is the deadliest accident to date involving a Bombairder Q400. R.I.P. to those 51 souls who died in this accident.
