STORYLINE:
The Asia-Pacific deputy director of the International Monetary Fund (I-M-F) says he is optimistic about discussions with Indonesian leaders this week, indicating the country could receive future injections of I-M-F money.
A high-level International Monetary Fund delegation met Indonesian President Megawati Sukarnoputri on Monday at the start of a five-day visit that could lead to the resumption of the fund's 5-billion (b) dollars lending program.
The international lending institution is hoping to reach agreement with Indonesia on a number of economic reforms the country must complete before receiving a 400 million (m) dollar loan installment that has been stalled for the past nine months.
