The government has announced that compensation for the 1,648 individuals affected by the construction of the Dongo Kundu Special Economic Zone will commence this week. The resettlement and compensation of the Affected Persons will facilitate the operationalisation of the 3000-acre Dongo Kundu Special Economic Zone. Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade, and Industry, Salim Mvurya, now says that the government has received 97 investment applications, valued at approximately 500 billion shillings.
