Katy is a town of over 25,000 people located along the Katy Freeway, 30 miles West of Houston, Texas. The city of Katy consists of a ton of master planned communities, and they have an old town historic area of Katy that the locals call "Katy proper." You can find a visitor center, train museum, city hall, water tower, art, antiques, clothing, salon, restaurants and bars around the area. The Katy Crossing Icehouse is located right there in the old downtown area and they feature live music. You can also find live music nearby at MKT Distillery, No Label Brewery, and Texas Tradition. Ultimately I made it out to play music at The Oaks Kitchen and Bar. Good times.
