Former TMC leader Partha Chatterjee has said that he is being framed in a conspiracy, a day after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee relieved him of his duties as a minister-in-charge of several heavyweight portfolios including commerce and industry.
Chatterjee was also removed from all party posts and suspended from the Trinamool Congress. His removal comes hours after clamour among the party to expel the former leader.
Chatterjee was TMC's secretary general for nearly two decades. He was appointed the party's national vice-president earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Chatterjee's close aide Arpita Mukherjee also injured her feet in a fall. She was seen being taken inside a hospital in a wheelchair.
