Amazing story of original Mimbar of Salahuddin Ayubi (rah) in Masjid al Khalil Hebron.
The wooden mimbar which stands today to the right of the mirhab dates to the Fatimid period and was commissioned by Badr al-Din Jamali in AH 484 / AD 1092. It was brought to the Masjid by Salah al-Din from Ashqelon (which lies roughly 50 km south of Jaffa). This mimbar is considered the oldest Islamic wooden mimbar still in use. It is in good condition and considered a masterpiece in both workmanship and design.
Saladin was born in Tikrit in present-day Iraq. Al-Nasir Salah al-Din Yusuf ibn Ayyub, better known simply as Salah ad-Din or Saladin, was a Sunni Muslim Kurd who became the first sultan of both Egypt and Syria and was the founder of the Ayyubid dynasty. 834 years ago, this pulpit rode the waves of Sultan Salahuddin Ayubi’s army to conquer Jerusalem. Symbolizing envisions of the Muslims regaining the Holy Land, it was at the hands of Salahuddin Ayubi that the pulpit was placed within the Holy Mosque.
ایک بچے نے بغداد کے بازار میں یہ مِمبر ایک ترخان کی دکان میں دیکھا ، ترخان یہ مِمبر کسی کو بھی منہ مانگی قیمت پر بھی فروخت نہیں کر رہا تھا ، اس کا کہنا تھا کہ یہ مِمبر اس نے مسجدِ اقصیٰ کیلئے تیار کیا ہے ۔
لوگ ترخان کی یہ بات سن کر اسے پاگل کہتے تھے کیونکہ اس وقت قُدس سلیبیوں کے پاس تھا۔
اس بچے نے جب اس ترخان کا جذبہ دیکھا تو اس بچے نے قُدس کو فتح کرنے کا ارادہ کرلیا۔
وقت گزرتا گیا اور وہ بچہ ایک عظیم مسلم سپہ سالار بنا، اور آخر کار قُدس فتح کیا اور وہ مِمبر مسجدِ اقصیٰ میں رکھا، اور آج بھی یہ مِمبر مسجدِ اقصیٰ موجود ہے۔
اُس بچے کو آج تک دنیا سلطان صلاح الدین ایوبی رحمتہ اللہ علیہ کے نام سے جانتی ہیں
