On Saturday evening around 5:30pm you can find the parking lot across from Dicks Sporting goods in Santa Clarita packed with music food and funfair. Every Saturday Food Trucks meet up and create a courtyard between vehicles. It is not quite the equivalent of the Palazzos in Europe or the Bazaar and squares of recent history, but it sure does the trick. In a setting than sometimes feel like an underground jam session of some of Los Angeles culinary creatives. There are Burrito Sushi plates, Tri tip Grilled Vegetables, even gluten free pastries.
The organizers provide very comfortable seating and tables for all patrons and guests to the event but with a few grass covered areas right by, you can set up a private picnic for a date or even an outing with the family. Next Saturday come out to the food truck evening. You can eat and fellowship with fellow Santa Clarita residents.
