Today we are talking about one of my favorite long-term stocks - Invitae, ticker symbol NVTA. This is the first time I’m talking about this one here on the channel, but I’m gonna tell you why I believe that Invitae will be a substantial winner in the genomics testing and one of the most powerful data companies in the health science field. Let's get into the Invitae stock analysis and why I think this one of the best genomics stocks out there right now for long term investing.

Invitae’s goal is to bring comprehensive genetic information into mainstream medicine. You can actually order 4 different saliva test kits from them even as an individual right now on their Web site, all of which test your genes to determine your risk for different health problems like cancer, genetic disorders, heart disease, and more.

Many believe that in a few years, Invitae will generate a good portion of its revenue through lifetime subscriptions to genomic screening combined with its core germ line business. The idea here is that if an individual is found to have a genome variant that could be pathogenic, their inherited gene profile will determine their own individual path for frequency of testing and monitoring. If they have a pathogenic variant in a somatic test, then they’d have their inherited genes mapped and will then have a personal lifelong plan to minimize risk of disease and maximize toward having a full life.

In this sense, I see Invitae as not just a genetic testing company, but one that will become about using the science they’re developing alongside the engineering of information systems in order to make people lives healthier and better. They’ll have a dominant role in both the genome research and personalized medicine arenas - these are two industries that I see exploding in the coming years.
