WHAT TYPE OF BITE DO YOU HAVE??
When you go to the orthodontist and you hear Class 1, Class 2, Class 3, this is us classifying your bite. Here's a quick recap of what they all mean:
Class 1 is the ideal/normal bite. In this type of bite it's normal to have some overlap of teeth in a horizontal and vertical dimension.
Class 2 is when the top teeth are ahead or in front of the bottom, we often see a large space between the top and bottom teeth, but not always! If the top teeth are angled backwards we tend to see a very 'deep bite' with less of a space between the teeth.
Class 3 is when the bottom teeth are ahead of the top teeth, we usually see an 'edge-edge' bite or an underbite pattern where the bottom teeth are ahead of the top!
Which one do you have?
