The presidential proclamation on June 22 barred the issuance of L-1B visas for the rest of the year, depriving US companies of foreign nationals crucial to the success implementation and completion of highly complex projects used to build the US's infrastructure and leads to the creation of thousands of additional US jobs. On August 12, the government announced exceptions to the proclamation that help the US economy, known as the National Interest Exceptions.
