A year ago I purchased the Kobalt KCS 120 Cordless Electric Chain Saw from Lowes for about $179.
I thought I’d post a demonstration and review of it.
The reason I purchased this chain saw is that I was looking for a really easy to use, easy to maintain chain saw and the idea of one that was portable and easy to take into my woods to chop up fallen trees was what I wanted.
After a year of use, I can saw I am extremely happy with this chain saw. I’ve used it pretty extensively and haven’t had a single problem with it. And it has been very effective at cutting everything from small two inch braches to six inch tree, and with some work, I’ve even gotten through larger ten inch trees.
The saw charges very quickly and is advertised as being able to make up to 75 cuts of 4x4 pressure treated lumber on 1 charge. I've been happy with the charging life. It takes a 40-volt Lithium Ion battery that also fits 6 other cordless Kobalt lawn care tools.
It comes fully assembled, is lightweight at 8.8 lbs, and has a five year limited warranty. At the time of this demo, the saw received a 4.7 out of 5 rating on the Lowe’s web site with over 83% of the 72 reviews being 5 out of 5 stars and 93% at least 4 out of 5 stars.
