Today we show you how you can coat the mesh of the screen as preparation to create a stencil for screenprinting. Coating the screen is easy if you have a scoop coater and the right emulsion. Please make sure you use the emulsion in a UV light save enviroment. Use a yellow bulb so that have you enough light to work with your tools. The yellow light protects the emulsion from hardening out too early. Let the emulsion dry completly. This usually takes a few hours when airdrying. You can also use a hairdryer to dry the emulsion. After that, expose your image on film on the screen with a 400 Watt halogen light (distance 60cm from mesh - 3:30 minutes). After the exposure please wash the screen with water until you got your stencil.
