동일본 대지진 7년 맞아 원전 반대 집회 잇따라
Japan has been marking the seventh anniversary of a deadly earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster that devastated its northeastern coast.
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe led a somber ceremony on Sunday, which was filled with silent prayers and rituals.
He said reconstruction is making steady progress, but more than 70-thousand people are still displaced and many have no prospect of returning to their homes.
A few rallies were also held in parts of the country, calling for an end to nuclear power.
The magnitude-9.0 earthquake killed 18-thousand people and also triggered the world's worst nuclear disaster since Chernobyl.
