Filippos Manoloudis (* 2001 in Kavala, Greece) is one of the leading classical guitarists of Greece. Praised by the Gendai Guitar Magazine for his “stunning technique and expressive power”, he is described as an “all round player”, flawlessly interpreting music spanning various periods and styles.
He started playing the guitar at the age of 7 in his hometown of Kavala with Alexandros Parisidis. A year later, he started receiving lessons from Fotis Koutsothodoros, with whom he received his soloist diploma at the age of 17. In 2019 he enrolled in the bachelor’s degree at the Academy of Music in Darmstadt, Germany, in Tilman Hoppstock’s guitar class, from where he graduated with honors in October 2023.
Since January 2024 he is pursuing his studies in the distinguished “Master in Classical Guitar Performance” of the University of Alicante, Spain, with a scholarship provided by Alhambra Guitarras, learning by professors such as David Russell, Manuel Barrueco, Ignacio Rodes, Sergio Assad, Duo Melis, Xavier Diaz Lattorre, Fabio Zanon and Judicael Perroy.
Since 2015 he has been performing solo concerts, nationally and internationally, giving recitals in Greece, Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Kosovo, China, Japan, Mexico, Costa Rica, Brazil and the US. He is often part of juries of professional international guitar competitions and he is regularly invited by guitar festivals and musical institutions to give masterclasses.
Filippos has been succesful at around 30 international guitar competitions, winning some of the most prestigious ones worldwide. In 2022 he was the 1st prizewinner of the "Koblenz International Guitar Competition 2022" in Germany and of the “65th Tokyo International Guitar Competition” in Japan. He has also been awarded the “Young Artist of Changsha” award in Changsha International Guitar Competition 2021 in China.
Together with three fellow students from the Music Academy in Darmstadt, he forms the "Frequency Guitar Quartet" and they perform often in Germany and abroad.
