10 unique ways to DIY, distress, & add character to your apple boxes to use as a posing tool or prop for your photography studio with Brandi Nicole and Felix Kunze 🕺
I wanted to make a video to demonstrate different ways you can add texture and uniqueness to your appleboxes (which for the unfamiliar they are basically a multi-tool for photographers!) because I think finding ways to make them interesting (and not just the raw pine!) will help bring your studio photos to life!

Here’s what you will see in this video:
-10 very easy methods to add texture and interest to your Kupo apple boxes from staining, painting, scraping, using sandpaper and drill sanders, and even a homemade concoction made of steel wool and vinegar made by our very own Felix Kunze.
-Also If you look closely you can spot @_emilyteague working behind me as i film this XD
The methods I use in this video are:
1. Basic flat/matte paint (acrylic, ceiling paint, wall paint, etc all work!)
2. Basic wood stain
3. Paint & Stain + weathered outdoors (Winter months are best for the wood to really get character!)
4. Paint + Stain + Sandpaper
5. Stain + Light Paint coat + drill sander
6. 'White wash' Stain
7. Furniture wax
8. Steel wool + vinegar
9. Dark stain + light paint with Vaseline (fail XD)
10. Dark stain + light paint wash + paint scrapers
I hope these tips may be helpful in your journey of adding tools to your studio! :)
If you know of any other fun ways to distress apple boxes leave them in the comments!
Thank you for watching!
