Gary Saul Morson is Lawrence B. Dumas Professor of the Arts and Humanities and Professor of Russian Literature at Northwestern University. The author of numerous books on Russian literature, he has also written studies of the role of quotations in culture, and the human experience of time. A book he co-authored with Northwestern president Morton Schapiro, Minds Wide Shut: How the New Fundamentalisms Divide Us is forthcoming from Princeton University Press.
