ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
M. V. Lee Badgett is the author of The Economic Case for LGBT Equality: Why Fair and Equal Treatment Benefits Us All. She is a professor of economics and the former director of the School of Public Policy at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She is also a Williams Distinguished Scholar at the Williams Institute for Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Law & Public Policy (UCLA School of Law), where she was a co-founder and the first research director.
Carlos A. Ball is the author of several books including The Queering of Corporate America: How Big Business Went from LGBTQ Adversary to Ally and From the Closet to the Courtroom: Five LGBT Rights Lawsuits That Have Changed Our Nation. He is Distinguished Professor of Law and the Judge Frederick Lacey Scholar at Rutgers University.
Michael Bronski has been involved in gay liberation as a political organizer, writer, and editor for more than four decades. He is the author or co-author of several books, including A Queer History of the United States (adult and young readers editions) and “You Can Tell Just by Looking”: And 20 Other Myths about LGBT Life and People. Bronski is Professor of the Practice in Activism and Media in the Studies of Women, Gender, and Sexuality at Harvard University.
