Description
Lot #1410 - This 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429 is one of 500 produced for the 1970 model year. This car has been carefully kept and maintained in a private collection. Built in October 1969, at the Ford Assembly Plant, in Dearborn, MI. This Boss 429 was professionally rotisserie restored. It was completely disassembled and stripped to bare metal. The entire drive train was rebuilt. The body was gone over from front to back with laser-straight fitment better than new. Then given a show-quality paint job in the correct Grabber Blue (code-J), using the best modern base coat/clear coat paint. The white interior was carefully redone as well. The frame was stripped, and all chassis components were replaced and/or refinished in the correct original factory finishes. The engine was sent out and completely rebuilt. The original Boss 429 NASCAR racing engine block (code-Z) was honed and new pistons, rings and bearings installed. The crank was checked and lightly refinished. The semi-HEMI cylinder heads were checked and given a valve job, along with new valves and valve springs. This Boss is powered by a 429ci V8 engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. The restoration on this Mustang Boss 429 is factory correct, right down to the original-style Goodyear Polyglas GT white-lettered tires. It comes with the Marti Report, including a copy of the original Ford Motor Company Window Sticker.
