Fainting goats, also known as Myotonic goats, are a breed characterized by a genetic condition called myotonia congenita. When startled or excited, these goats experience temporary muscle stiffening, causing them to "freeze" or faint for a brief moment. This unique trait has been selectively bred in some domestic goat populations, and while it may seem alarming, fainting goats do not actually lose consciousness during these episodes.
